To have and to hold

Samantha Winkelman and Zach Anderson married at The Revaire. Samantha, a graduate of Memorial High School, teaches algebra at River Oaks Baptist School. Zach grew up in Tucson, Ariz., and works as a mechanical engineer in Houston. Samantha and Zach met through a dating app, and their first date was walking Samantha’s dog together. So, for their wedding, friends gave them a “dog of honor” tag for Lila Rose (during the wedding, a stuffed-animal version proudly wore it). Zach proposed during Samantha’s Grandpa Leffler’s 95th birthday weekend at the Wisconsin hotel where Samantha first messaged him on the app. The first photo she had sent him was a shot of a blizzard outside of this hotel, so after he proposed, they did a special impromptu photo shoot in the snow piles by the hotel. During their wedding ceremony, Samantha’s “something old” was her mom’s original wedding shoes, and Zach now wears Samantha’s late Grandpa Winkelman’s wedding band. Happy parents are Ben and Jean Winkelman and Dirk and Darlyne Anderson from San Jose, Calif.
