Of late, talk of tyrannical childrearing has set the parenting world abuzz. Countless parents cringed when Yale law professor Amy Chua called her oldest daughter “garbage” after the girl misbehaved. More gasped when the self-professed “tiger mom” dictated that her youngest daughter, Lulu, go without water and bathroom breaks until the child mastered a piano tune.
